Scimitar Snow/Snap Peas
Pisum sativum
Annual plants, open pollinated.
These peas are thought to resemble a scimitar, a short curved blade that broadens at the point. Scimiar peas are a rare and old heirloom variety bearing very large pods. These plants grow very tall (6 ft) and need trellising. Pods are very sweet, sugar snap / snow types. Dual purpose.
Days to Maturity: 64
Seeds per pack: 30ish
Seed starting
Direct seed in the garden as soon as soil can be worked. Sow at 1 inch depth. Peas will climb, so provide them with trellising. They can tolerate a little frost, and they are naturally quite drought tolerant. You can plant them a couple inches apart.
