Nicotiana rustica
Annual, Open-pollinated.
aka Lemon Rustica.
This plant is a typical Rustica type - low growing (1.5 feet), robust, sturdy, and fast. Leaves ripen easily, and dry to a nice lemon yellow colour, thus the name. The leaves average about 8 inches both sides. The nicotine content in this plant is high (6-9%). Because of this, it is best used as an offering tobacco.
100 seeds per pack.
Days to maturity: 65 days
Seed starting:
Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost in your region. The seeds are tiny! Scatter them on top of a compacted moist soil, and water them carefully (I like to mist them heavily with a spray bottle). The seed require light to germinate so don’t cover them up :). This is a sun plant - loves the sun and warmth. Germination takes about 1 to 2 weeks. Transplant outside in a sunny spot once all danger of frost has passed.
