Nicotiana tabacum.
Annual, Open-pollinated.
L'assomption was developed in Quebec, at the Assomption Experimental Station in the 1930s. This variety is typically used as filler and as a wrapper (cigars). This plant grows up to 5 feet, with an average of 18 leaves.
It can be primed, stalk-cut, stalk-cured and air cures easily to a deep medium brown.
100 seeds per pack.
Days to maturity: 65 days
Seed starting:
Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost in your region. The seeds are tiny! Scatter them on top of a compacted moist soil, and water them carefully (I like to mist them heavily with a spray bottle). The seed require light to germinate so don’t cover them up :). This is a sun plant - loves the sun and warmth. Germination takes about 1 to 2 weeks. Transplant outside in a sunny spot once all danger of frost has passed.
