Hawkesbury Wonder bush bean
Phaseolus vulgaris
Bush bean. Dry bean. Snap bean.
All purpose bean! This is actually an old Australian heirloom. Green pods are great picked young, and the red seeds are used as a dry bean. Reportedly one of the best varieties for home gardeners!
Days to maturity: 60 days for snap.
30 seeds per pack.
Seed starting:
For bush beans, pole beans and runner beans.
Direct seed in your garden once all danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed. Beans do not tolerate frost. Early June is when we plant around here. Sow seed about 1” deep. Darker coloured seeds tend to germinate better in cooler soils.
Pole beans and runner beans need something to climb!
We live and garden on ancestral territory of Algonquin Anishnaabeg People, forever territory of wild fauna & flora, cultivated lands of Irish and French settlers, and now beloved home of the junco seeds family (humans, chickens, dogs, sheep and cats)
