Black Barley is an extremely short plant (2 feet tall), with two rows of barley per head. The seed is black, while the heads are golden with long beards.
A very early variety.

Seed starting:
Directly plant outside in the garden as soon as soil can be worked. Sow to a depth of 1/2 inch in straight rows, 3 or 4 neighbouring rows - weed competing plants until it is tall enough to weed them out itself.
