Glycine maxima

Originally selected from a Japanese gardener in Sapporo and offered in North America in 1920-30s.  These plants are compact, productive, 12 to 16 inches in height, and they require no support. Pods contain 2-3 smallish medium soybeans. 46% protein content and 19% oil.

This is a rare variety, and is great for edemame.

80-85 days maturity.

30 seeds per pack.

Seed starting

For bush beans, pole beans, runner beans, soybeans.

Direct seed in your garden once all danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed. Beans do not tolerate frost. Early June is when we plant around here. Sow seed about 1” deep. Darker coloured seeds tend to germinate better in cooler soils.

Pole beans and runner beans need something to climb!
